Getting a Job / Training

One of the primary One-stop principles of the Career Center is universal access. Just walk in to the One-Stop Career Center.

Step ONE: Welcome / Orientation

We help to identify the service(s) an individual is seeking and the partner programs from which they would most benefit. Materials provided may include the Yolo County One-Stop Career Center brochure and an overview of the Employment Center and Resource room facilities and equipment.

All customers complete a short form at sign-in upon the first visit to a Center, or shortly thereafter, and are provided a SmartWare card by One-Stop staff. This helps us track the services provided.

Step TWO: Employment Center / Resource Room

The Employment Center and/or the Resource room enable the individual to access all of the informational resources of the Center on a self-service basis. They may be provided technical computer and Internet assistance if needed.

The Employment Center is full of employment related literature and information. These rooms are equipped with copiers, facsimile machines, computers, internet access, resume preparation computer programs, printers, telephones, various publications and more for customers to use.

Step THREE: Core Services

If an individual requires a greater level of service, they will be referred to staff for information about staff assisted core services and registering in the WIA program.
