The local Workforce Investment Board is composed of influential business leaders who identify the employment development needs of the region. The WIA provides the overall framework and authorizes the basic funding for the system of services to be developed under the Workforce Investment Act. It sets forth the parameters for the local workforce investment systems and provides the funding for services to youth, adults, and dislocated workers.
