Employment Center - Main Lobby
Job Seekers may use the Employment Center Monday through Friday, 8am to 5 pm. Staff is available to assist in job search techniques and computer research. Resources available include: Internet browsing, job leads, on-site recruitment, daily want ads from surrounding newspapers, and use the copy and fax machines to assist their efforts.
Career Exploration - Workshop 4
This four-day workshop provides interests, personality, work values and job skills assessments. These assessments aid the individual to conduct and arrive at a personalized career path, which includes Immediate, Short Term, and Long Term career goals. After the Career Exploration, staff works individually with customers who want to explore their interests, personality, and job skills to determine appropriate career goals.
Employment Skills for English Learners - Workshop 2
A 10-day workshop that provides career exploration assessments in personality, values, interests, and job skills to identify job goals. It also covers applications, resumes, and interviewing assistance for English learners and non-English speakers only.

An informative one-day workshop that helps you to write a good application to get the employer's attention and answers difficult questions while presenting a positive image.
Writing a Better Resume - Workshop 4
A one-day workshop where you write or update a personal resume, with the assistance of trained staff. You may choose the style and format that best fits your background and experience to create your personal resume.
Learn to Interview Better - Workshop 4
Learn how to prepare, relax, and communicate effectively with employers in a two-day workshop. You will learn how to develop acceptable replies to hard to answer questions.
Life Skills Workshop - Workshop 4
This is an exciting 12 hour workshop that focuses on budgeting, communication, time management and problem solving. It is a fun, innovative and highly interactive class that tackles the tough skills of life and prepares you for work.
Basic Computer Class - Workshop 5
A series of three computer classes designed for beginning computer users. On Tuesday, students learn to identify and use the essential parts and functions of the computer. On Wednesday the class focuses on the basics of Microsoft Word. On Thursday, the class includes learning to navigate the Internet for job searching, using CalJOBS and setting up an e-mail account.
Russian CalJOBs Workshop - Workshop 5
Spanish CalJOBs Workshop - Workshop 5
Participants will learn how to navigate the Internet and CalJOBS. Internet navigation includes enrollment and resume entry on CalJOBS, an EDD website for individuals to look for jobs within California. As a result, participants become more comfortable using a computer in their job search. Individuals mandated by Unemployment to enter and or update their CalJOBS resume can meet this requirement by taking this class. Spanish CalJOBS Workshop is designed for Spanish speakers and Russian CalJOBS Workshop is designed for Russian speakers.
How to Get a State Job - Workshop 5
This is a two-hour workshop for those interested in getting a state job. It reviews where to find information on State Job openings, how to determine if one meets the minimum qualification requirements, how to apply for testing and be placed on the eligibility list, the interview process, the probation period, and acquiring permanent civil servant status. All state applicants must be able to read, write and speak English. You must be registered in CalJOBs to attend. Call Gigi Camilo at 530-661-2616 to reserve your seat.
